MTN Sim Card Registration: How to Check If Your Line has been Registered.

MTN, Glo, Airtel, Etisalat and others are currently undergoing registration of phone numbers due to the directive given by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC); to the GSM networks. NCC has established Centres across the country to handle this exercise and to enable users all over the country to get their lines registered.

SIM registration is meant to help the GSM companies and the Government keep a record of subscribers in the country. In addition, it will ensure the easy  recovery of lost SIM cards and to help the law enforcement agencies in tracking down criminals.

How to know If Your Sim Has Been Registered:

It is not enough to just go to the NCC registration centre and get registered, some factors may occur which could make some registrations invalid. That is the reason why it is good to always confirm if your line/lines has been registered.

- Send a text to 789 with the word reg .

After sending the text to 789 with your MTN SIM card, you should get a reply confirming or denying that you have been registered.

If your line was registered, you will get a reply saying "Your number has been registered. Thank you!"

That is the simple way to confirm.
