As many Banks in Nigeria have started to adopt internet banking operations which is making banking in Nigeria stress free because now you may not need to go to the bank to make cash deposits, withdrawals, pay for flights, instant recharge of your line, etc because all of these can now be done right from your internet banking platform.

Zenith Bank plc,United Bank for Africa (UBA) Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, (GtBank) and a host of others are among those that have started internet banking operations in Nigeria.

Aside the normal transactions that I have listed above, many of them require the use of token to enable you to perform a third party transaction. For instance with the GTB and Zenith Internet Banking operations that am familiar with, you CANNOT make third party transaction like making a withdrawal/transfer from your account to another account holder of the same bank or another bank without having a token.

What is a Token Device:

A token is a hardware device that is being applied for at your bank which is linked to your account that will enable you to make third party transactions without you going to the bank.
Once you have it, it instantly gives you total assess to your bank account and its security solely depends on your ability to keep it safe.

How to Apply for a Token?

Kindly walk in to any branch of your bank, apply for internet banking and then a token.
Please note that different banks have their own one-time charges for a token activation
