Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Rochester, in a study found that tart cherries naturally boosted the body's supply of melatonin, which in turn helped those suffering from insomnia.

Bananas contain potassium and magnesium, which are natural muscle relaxants. Bananas also contain the amino acid L-tryptophan, which get converted into serotonin and melatonin. 
Oatmeal: 
Oatmeal is loaded with potassium, magnesium, and calcium, all of which are beneficial for sleep. Oats also contain melatonin, a key component for good sleep. 
Goji Berries: 
Goji berries are high in antioxidants, rich in vitamin A, and have been used in Asia for centuries. It is known the "next fountain of youth". There have been studies that found goji berries to help with mental wellness, calmness, and better sleep.
