Protest Rocks Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Yaba Over Non-Payments of Two Months Salaries

The Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba Lagos today experienced a mass peaceful protest over the non-payment of their last two (2) months salary -July and August.

The protest started around 10am and lasted for over one hour at the hospital premises. Both health and administrative staff including Health records officers, Nurses, Medical Lab Scientists, Pharmacists and Doctors were involved in the protest.

They alleged that either the Federal government or the hospital management have deliberately decided to hold on to their two months salaries without concrete conviction as to why the non-payments.

Speaking with some of the protesters, they alleged that sister hospitals like Igbobi, Luth and others have received their payments and psychiatric hospital staff are yet to receive theirs.

The management have turned deaf ears to their plight and have been making flimpsy excuses to them with lots of promises and failures.

They are now calling on the federal government to come to their aid and seek a redress to their long overdue July and August Salaries.

An indefinite strike has therefore been announced to this effect until further notice when they might have got alerts on their mobile phones.
